Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a type of neck surgery that involves removing a damaged disc in your neck to relieve spinal cord or nerve root pressure and alleviate corresponding pain, weakness, numbness, and tingling. After the disc is removed, a bone graft is inserted between the vertebrae to create a permanent fusion. This helps to stabilize the spine and prevent further nerve compression.
